Leaf clearance & autumn tidy
Autumn leaves left on a lawn smother it, suffocate the grass and invite moss. We clear leaves, beds, gutters and paths in a single visit — bagged up and taken away.
What's involved
From mid-October through to early December, the leaf-drop in Warwickshire gardens is heavy — especially anywhere with mature ash, oak, sycamore or beech trees nearby. We come out as often as needed to keep your garden clear, either as one-off visits or a fortnightly schedule for peak weeks.
Lawn leaf clearance. Leaves smothering the lawn block light, trap damp and encourage moss within a fortnight. We use a backpack blower and a powered lawn vacuum — far quicker and more thorough than raking. Mulched leaves can be left on borders to break down naturally, or we bag and remove them.
Bed & border clearance. Leaves pile up against fences, in hedge bases and behind shrubs where they harbour slugs and damp. We work systematically through borders, lifting leaves from around the crowns of plants and out of corners.
Path, drive & patio sweep. Wet leaves on hard surfaces are slippery and stain stone. We blow paths and patios clean, then vacuum up the pile.
Gutter clearing. If autumn leaves end up in your gutters they cause overflow, damp walls and broken downpipes. We can clear ground-floor gutters with a wet-and-dry vacuum and an extending wand — no ladder needed for single-storey, and safely with ladders for two-storey.
End-of-season tidy. Once the leaves stop falling we do a final autumn cut-back: cut down spent perennials, mulch the borders, last lawn cut at a higher setting, and a thorough sweep. Garden ready for winter.

Frequently asked questions
Do you take all the leaves away?
Yes — we bag everything and remove it from site as part of the standard visit. If you'd like to keep some for leaf-mould (excellent free compost), we'll pile them in a corner instead.
Can leaves be composted instead of binned?
Yes — leaves break down beautifully into leaf-mould over 1–2 years. They're too high in carbon for a regular compost bin alone, but a wire mesh corner full of leaves makes the best soil improver going.
Do you clear gutters at the same time?
Yes — ground-floor gutters are quick to do with our wet-and-dry vacuum and extending wand. For two-storey houses we use ladders and proper safety kit. It's an add-on to a leaf clearance visit.
When should I book autumn clearance?
First visit usually mid-October as the heavy drop starts. A follow-up in mid-November keeps things tidy. Regular customers on our maintenance plans get priority slots — we book up quickly through November.
Are wet leaves a slip hazard?
Very much so — on paths, patios and especially smooth tile or wood. That's the first thing we clear at every visit. Keep them off for safety as well as appearance.
